Aristotle and Dante

IMG_3109

This artwork is inspired by the book Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe written by Benjamin Alire Saenz. In my watercolour painting Aristotle is on the bottom holding a dead bird and Dante is on the top with his book of poems filling Aristotle’s life with words and happiness. I’ve put the image of Dante from Dante’s Inferno on the right because Dante’s name is derived from Dante’s inferno and both Dantes are poets. On the other side I have put Aristotle the philosopher. Aristotle in the book also asks many questions like the philosopher. Within the painting I have written down significant quotes from the book that were of importance to me or helped develop the plot.
