Born in the frigid Antarctic, the Pwnguin lived a life of swimmy, fishy banality (catching fish, eating fish, and thinking about fish and fish products) until the day that he came across a yellow floaty ducky ring adrift in the Antarctic sea. Bored with his lot in life, he decided to hop on the floaty duck and see the world. He picked up some awesome sunglasses on a beach in Rio de Janeiro (too crowded, there, though), then floated up through the Caribbean (too hot for a penguin!) and made his way up and around the coast of North America. He stopped for a while in Greenland (it was nice and cool there), but there weren't enough people around to admire his awesome sunglasses, so he eventually got back on his floaty and made his way down through Hudson's Bay, taking rivers and lakes one at a time until he eventually found himself here in Winnipeg, where we have plenty of people who admire his sunglasses, and lots of fish and fish products as well. Now he spends his days in and around our city, showing up in some of the most astounding places. Yup, that's his story. At least we think that's his story, it was pretty hard to figure out because he can't talk (he's a penguin, after all) and only communicates via hand-lettered signs. Maybe there's more to the story... who can say for sure?

One thing we can say about The Pwnguin is that he reads A LOT. He's put together an awesome Top Ten "Read-alikes" List as an example entry in our "Unpredictable Booklists" contest. Check it out - can you come up with a better list?

WHERE WILL THE PWNGUIN SHOW UP NEXT?!

Check back later to see!
