Then you should be a member of Winnipeg Public Library's
Youth Advisory Councils!
What is it?
A Youth Advisory Council is a volunteer group of Winnipeg teens who want to help keep Winnipeg's libraries lively and interesting.
Why Join?
You'll get credit for volunteer hours worked, impressive work experience for your resume, references for job and scholarship applications, and you'll have tons of fun doing so!
Meet people from across the city, chat about books, plan fun programs, and get access to new books before everyone else!
When & Where is it?
There are two Youth Advisory Councils in the library system:
The Millennium Library YAC (check it on the map) meets on Saturdays downtown. Meetings are held every six weeks, and run from 1:30-3:30 p.m.
The Sir William Stephenson YAC meets on the first Thursday of the month from 5-6 pm. This is a local council that meets specifically to discuss libraries in the north-west region of the city.
