This book is about middle school life. It is funny because it is just like real life middle school. I guess the writer didn’t have a very fun middle school. If I could change the story, Greg would not be a jerk.

I do not find the characters very relatable. Greg is too full of himself, The parents are too protective, and Rowley is too much of a doofus. Maybe the writer over did it on purpose, but I like books that are realistic.

I will not read this again for at least another year. There are also ten more installments in the series with more coming.
